Ein herzliches Willkommen meine Lieben,
A warm welcome my lovelies,
Also -leichtes Outfit einpacken.
Dann also wirklich gestartet.

What a fabulous get away. I loved these views. I think it's great how you can explore so many countries living in Europe without a big plane trip, although sometimes I am sure that is a shorter than driving. I think you had an amazing trip, except for the battery. When we went to Canada last fall our battery died, and luckily it happened in area where there was a close by place to get a new one, and we were staying in a hotel rather than an Air B&B because the hotel was able to give us a jump start. I hope you have more photos to share. hugs-Erika And happy T day too.
AntwortenLöschenThank you so much dear Erika. When you travel with your own car there are more possibilities. But what annoys me are the traffic jams because of heavy traffic on the motorways -especially in Germany and also in Italy. But when you have reached your destination you can go to places that you can´t reach with planes...and as we took our e-bikes with us there were even more. In the meantime I let change the battery. And there are many more pictures to be posted.

I sometimes take weeks to get my photos sorted from a trip. It looks like you had a great place to stay and some lovely areas to visit. That Basilica was amazing. The convent was stunning. Loved the mural/triptych.
AntwortenLöschenYour meal and beer look delicious. Thanks so much for sharing them with us for T this Tuesday, dear Violetta.
Thank you so much for your kind words again dear Elizabeth, always so nice to read your comments.

WOW! My wife and I would love traveling with you. Your pictures of the wondrous places you were at are all amazing. A trip to Italy is in our bucket list, but with 3 elderly parents to care for, we'll need to wait. Blessings!
AntwortenLöschenStarting a road trip with a dead car battery is pure panic, but surviving that hiccup led straight into such breathtaking Italian views! Orvieto perched up on that hill looks straight out of a storybook, plus exploring those ancient grottoes and catacombs at the Basilica of Santa Cristina must have offered wonderful relief from that brutal heatwave. Those adorable castle ducks make a charming cameo appearance too. Can't wait to see where the next leg of your journey takes you.
AntwortenLöschenDear Melody, I am always so delighted of your so wonderful words and the descriptions. It is such a great pleasure to read them. There are more views to be shown.

How charming - we stayed in Orvieto purely because the text book we were learning Italian from was set in Orvieto and all the conversations were about going around town and drinking their very famous hot chocolate (I don't like hot chocolate so it was an even weirder reason to pick that town). Ha!
AntwortenLöschenThank you for your kind visit dear Lydia. Oh, you´ve been to Orvieto too. I hope you liked this old city. And I did not have a taste of hot chocolate. I even didn´t know that it is famous. All the best

What a wonderful start to your Italian holiday! Despite the bumpy start with the car, the stunning views and peaceful atmosphere look completely worth it. Fantastic photos!
AntwortenLöschenThank you for your kind visit and words. I had to use the starting kit several times...but that was insignificant compared to the wonderful landscape that we could enjoy.

The place you stayed looks just lovely! How fun that your trip aligned with other family/friends (of a sort)-- that's often such a nice bonus when that happens.
AntwortenLöschenThank you dear Joanne. Yes this part of Italy is one of the most beautiful places I ever visited. And I have another bunch of pictures to be shown in the next weeks.

Thank you dear Arnoldo for your kind words. I understand that it is not easy to travel with the elderly parents.
